Aide to Tibetan Refugees in a Sacred Hidden Land.
The Pemakö Project mission is to benefit the people of the Pemakö region and preserve sacred traditions of the endangered Tibetan culture. Committed local involvement, human scale projects and appreciation for environmental conservation are the hallmarks of our program.

The Pemakö region has historically been felt to be a haven for the Tibetan people in times of conflict and danger. A sacred “hidden land”, like Shangri la, Pemakö stretches across the Indian Tibetan border in the far northeast corner of India. Its remote location protects its people but also complicates attempts to bring aide. - J_Hamsa , posted 03/01/06
